Gage Park is a city park of 160 acres (0.65 km 2) in Topeka, Kansas, United States.It was established in 1899 and is one of the largest parks in Topeka. It features the Topeka Zoo, the Kansas Children's Discovery Center, a miniature train of 15 in (381 mm) gauge, the Helen Hocker Theater, the Blaisdell family aquatic center, and the Reinisch Rose Garden.
The Topeka Zoo (formally the Topeka Zoological Park) is a medium-sized zoo in Topeka, Kansas in the United States. It is located within Gage Park, just off I-70 in the north central portion of the city. Despite its size, it houses over 300 animals in a number of exhibits, including one of the first indoor tropical rain forests in the United States.
The rose garden was initially planned by landscape architect and horticulturist E. F. A. Reinisch in 1926. Following his death in 1929, the garden was developed by the Topeka Horticulture Society, and opened in June 1930. [1] The Doran Rock Garden was completed in 1932. [2]
Ad Astra, a 22 + 2 ⁄ 12-foot (6.756 m) bronze sculpture weighing 4,420 pounds (2,000 kg), was installed atop the dome on October 10, 2002. [7] The sculpture, by Richard Bergen , [ 8 ] depicts a Kansa Native American with bow and arrow pointed at the North Star and was chosen from 27 entries to adorn the dome. [ 9 ]

The Stormont Vail Events Center, formerly known as Kansas Expocentre, is a 10,000-seat multi-purpose arena built in 1987 in Topeka, Kansas.Previously, the Topeka Sizzlers of the Continental Basketball Association, Kansas Koyotes indoor football team,Topeka Tarantulas, Topeka ScareCrows, Topeka Pilots ice hockey and Topeka Tropics of the National Arena League (NAL) teams played there.
