El Tigre: The Adventures of Manny Rivera (sometimes shortened to El Tigre) is a Mexican-American animated television series created by Jorge R. Gutierrez and Sandra Equihua that premiered on Nickelodeon on February 19, 2007. [1] The series centers on a 13-year-old boy named Manny Rivera, better known as "El Tigre".

Gutierrez (born January 25, 1975) is a Mexican-American animator, painter, and voice actor.He co-created with Sandra Equihua the Nickelodeon animated series El Tigre: The Adventures of Manny Rivera, co-wrote and directed The Book of Life, Son of Jaguar for Google, and Maya and the Three for Netflix Animation.
He played Manolo "Manny" Ribera, the right-hand man of Cuban drug lord Tony Montana, in the 1983 crime drama Scarface. He also played the drug cartel leader Don Eladio Vuente in Breaking Bad (2011) and in Better Call Saul (2017–2022) and the retired Mossad agent Avi Rudin in Ray Donovan (2013–2017).
Sandra Equihua won an Annie and Emmy Award for her character designs on El Tigre: The Adventures of Manny Rivera. [7] She was the first Latina artist to achieve the honor. [8] She won an Annie for her character designs for The Book of Life.
