The Kansas Academy of Mathematics and Science was established by legislative action in 2006 by the Kansas Legislature. Wichita Collegiate School, known locally as Collegiate, is a private, co-educational, non-denominational, and non-profit college preparatory day school founded in 1963 currently enrolling 966 students from preschool through 12th grade located in Wichita, Kansas, United States. The Head of School is Nathan Washer, who was appointed in July 2019. [6]
In 2008, a bond issue was approved to build 5 new schools in USD 259, which included a new high school. [7] It was decided the new high school would replace the existing Northeast Magnet High School at 1847 North Chautauqua Street in Wichita. The new school is located approximately 6 miles northeast of the older school.
