The Florida Complex League (FCL) is a rookie-level Minor League Baseball league that operates in Florida, United States. Before 2021, it was known as the Gulf Coast League ( GCL ). Together with the Arizona Complex League (ACL), it forms the lowest rung on the North American minor-league ladder.
Prior to 2021, the team was known as the Gulf Coast League Pirates. The team plays its home games in Bradenton, Florida , at the Pirate City complex. The FRL was the direct predecessor of the Gulf Coast League (GCL), which was formed in 1966. However, the team first played in the GCL during 1977–1998, capturing titles in 1979 and 1994. In 1980 and 1981, the team fielded two squads in the GCL, differentiated by Orange and Blue suffixes. The team suspended operations after the 1998 season.
On November 8, 2012, the Mets announced the re-establishment of a Gulf Coast League team based in Port St. Lucie.
