San Agustin Church is located in General Luna St., Manila. The present structure is actually the third Augustinian church erected on the site. [6] The first San Agustin Church was the first religious structure constructed by the Spaniards on the island of Luzon. [7]
The Manila Cathedral was built in the Latin cross (cruciform) layout. Its northwest façade, which is built in the Neo-Romanesque architecture style, is a replica of the façade of the previous cathedral, along with statues of famous saints sculpted in Roman travertine stone. Several of the artworks inside the basilica were made by Italian artists.
