Nitrogen trichloride, also known as trichloramine, is the chemical compound with the formula NCl 3.This yellow, oily, and explosive liquid is most commonly encountered as a product of chemical reactions between ammonia-derivatives and chlorine (for example, in swimming pools).
English: Structural formula of the nitrogen trichloride molecule, NCl3, with a nitrogen-chlorine bond of length 1.759 Å and a Cl-N-Cl angle of 107.1 °. Structural information (determined by gas-phase electron diffraction) from CRC Handbook, 91st edition , page 9–25.
Sodium sulfate is a typical electrostatically bonded ionic sulfate. The existence of free sulfate ions in solution is indicated by the easy formation of insoluble sulfates when these solutions are treated with Ba 2+ or Pb 2+ salts: Na 2 SO 4 + BaCl 2 → 2 NaCl + BaSO 4. Sodium sulfate is unreactive toward most oxidizing or reducing agents.

[100] [101] For example, MgCl 2 is named magnesium chloride, and Na 2 SO 4 is named sodium sulfate (SO 2− 4 , sulfate , is an example of a polyatomic ion ). To obtain the empirical formula from these names, the stoichiometry can be deduced from the charges on the ions, and the requirement of overall charge neutrality.

The sulfate chlorides are double salts containing both sulfate (SO 4 2–) and chloride (Cl –) anions. They are distinct from the chlorosulfates, which have a chlorine atom attached to the sulfur as the ClSO 3 − anion. Many minerals in this family exist. Many are found associated with volcanoes and fumaroles.
