Berean Christian School (BCS) is a private K-12 Christian school in Fairview Heights, Illinois, USA. The school, that was named after the Bereans, is operated as a ministry of the Edgemont Bible Church (EBC). Established in 1972, it was accredited as a MODEL [1] school in 1996. The school uses the Accelerated Christian Education curriculum.
Since 2015, Heritage Christian University Press has published an annual volume in the Berean Study Series. The Berean Study Series is a 13-lesson resource, consisting of videos and corresponding study guides (available as a pdf file or printed book) for each lesson.
Some groups among the Bible Student movement also adopted the name, such as the Berean Bible Students and the Berean Bible Institute. Churches and institutions who adopt the Berean name, usually do so in order to express their desire to reflect the attitude of the Bereans in Acts 17, committing themselves to "searching the scriptures daily".
