Bolivar Township is one of eleven townships in Benton County, Indiana. [3] As of the 2020 census, its population was 1,179 and it contained 514 housing units. [ 4 ] Bolivar Township was organized in March 1860 and named for South American liberator Simón Bolivar .

The western terminus of SR 212 is at U.S. Route 250 near Beach City, and its eastern terminus is at SR 151 in Bowerston. The route passes through rural areas but passes through small villages including Beach City, Bolivar, Zoar, Sherrodsville, and Leesville.
