The Rhodes Memorial is a large monument in the style of an ancient Greek temple on Devil's Peak in Cape Town, South Africa, situated close to Table Mountain. It is a memorial to the English -born South African politician Cecil John Rhodes (1853 – 1902), was designed by architect Herbert Baker and finished in 1912.

From about 2003 until 2004, the logo consisted of a white outline of Table Mountain on a rainbow brush stroke background. [2] From 1996 until around 2003, the flag featured a silhouette of Table Mountain. It was created by a graphic designer and was not registered with the South African Bureau of Heraldry.

At a meeting in the Cape Town Public Library, convened on 12 October 1850, proposals were discussed to erect a building in the Company's Garden for the purpose of exhibiting art. [1] This occasion was the inaugural meeting of the South African Fine Arts Association, founded by Thomas Butterworth Bayley and Abraham de Schmidt. [2]
