In the men's 2020–21 Biathlon World Cup total score, for each participating athlete the points earned in all Individual, Sprint, Pursuit and Mass start competitions held during the season are added up with the four lowest scores subtracted at the end of the season to give that athlete's final score.

The 2019–20 Biathlon World Cup (BWC) was a multi-race series over a season of biathlon, organised by the International Biathlon Union. The season started on 30 November 2019 in Östersund , Sweden and ended on 14 March 2020 in Kontiolahti , Finland , a week and a day earlier than planned.

The Biathlon World Cup is a top-level biathlon season-long competition series. It has been held since the winter seasons of 1977–78 for men and 1982–83 for women. The women's seasons until 1986–87 season were called the European Cup, although participation was not restricted to Europeans.
It was the 46th edition for men and 41st edition for women of the highest international race series in biathlon. The season started on 29 November 2022 in Kontiolahti, Finland and ended on 19 March 2023 in Oslo Holmenkollen, Norway.
