It was renamed as the Whanganui Riverboat Centre, and re-opened on 24 February 1995. [5] [1] After being buried in the river mud for nearly 40 years, the Waimarie was salvaged by volunteers in 1993. The restoration of the vessel was adopted as a sesquicentennial project in Whanganui.

State Highway 43, known as the Forgotten World Highway, travels through the Tāngarākau Gorge.
The County class is a class of offshore patrol vessels built for the Jamaica Defence Force Coast Guard (JDF). Based on the Dutch Damen Stan 4207 patrol vessel, the first vessel entered service in 2005. [1] [2] [3] Three were originally purchased, but only one remains in service with the JDF.
