Brendan Peter Schaub (born March 18, 1983) is an American podcast host, former professional mixed martial artist, and stand-up comedian. [2] He is the host of The Fighter and the Kid podcast, the Below the Belt with Brendan Schaub podcast, and co-host of the Golden Hour podcast, along with fellow comedians Chris D'Elia and Erik Griffin. The podcast takes its name from Schaub being known as a fighter, while Callen is known in the LA stand-up comedy circuit by his nickname Bryan 'The Kid' Callen. In August 2020, Bryan Callen announced a leave of absence from the podcast, [ 4 ] after denying allegations of sexual assault or misconduct by four women.
Callen was born on a military base in Manila, Philippines. [10] He is the son of American parents, Victoria Callen (née Sclafani) and Michael A. Callen. Because of his father's career as an international banker, Callen lived overseas until he was fourteen years old, including in the Philippines, India, Pakistan, Lebanon, Greece and Saudi Arabia. [11]
