The Riddell District Football Netball League (RDFNL) is an Australian rules football and netball league in Victoria, Australia. The RDFNL covers towns in the Macedon Ranges and an area from Melton in the south to Kyneton and Lancefield in the north. The league also runs junior competitions from Under 9 to Under 17 age groups.
The Kyabram District Football Association was formed in 1932, [4] [5] changing its name to Kyabram District Football League in 1960. [ 6 ] The Kyabram District Patriotic Football League was established in 1944 and continued on in 1945 to provide some local football in the Goulburn Valley area and also raised £400 in funds for the War.
All of the standalone teams joined the merged league apart from Cannum which joined the Horsham & District until they folded in 1971. [ 2 ] The seconds sides were required to move into the Wimmera Football League second XVIII competition, which was the major league of the district, this provoked the change for a merged league.
In 1971, Corrigin and Kondinin joined the league from the disbanded Corrigin Football Association. In 1974, Merredin Towns and Baandee merged to form Merredin Lions. In 1983, Hyden-Karlgarin and Kulin joined the league from the disbanded Lake Grace-Kulin Districts Football League In 2005, Kulin and Kondinin merged to form Kulin-Kondinin Blues.
The league was formed in 1991 after an amalgamation of the Southern Districts (Denmark, Royals, North Mt Barker, North Albany, Railways, South Mt Barker) and Central Great Southern Football League (Australs, Kojonup, Tambellup, Wanderers, Dumbleyung) Leagues in 1991. [2]
