Pandora Hearts is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Jun Mochizuki. It was serialized in Square Enix monthly shōnen magazine GFantasy from June 2006 to March 2015. Jun Mochizuki was born on December 22 in Kanagawa Prefecture. [1] After graduating from high school, Mochizuki applied for an art school, but was ultimately not accepted into the school. [2] Following this, she continued drawing and eventually submitted her work to Square Enix. [2] Her first work was a one-shot titled Pandora Hearts.

The author found identity to be more crucial in Vanitas than in Pandora Hearts and in her other work Crimson-Shell, which also uses these elements. The author wished to show little by little what is hidden deep in the hearts of her characters.
