Tough_Row_785. •. UNLV is a different school. There is no sense of community or anything like that. However, the experience and everything the school offers is awesome. I’ve been offered dozens of jobs because of UNLV and Being in Vegas. Vegas is expanding exponentially, Tons of room for growth and new opportunities.
UNR overall is the better school compared to UNLV. UNR is a more traditional campus. Plus they have the School of Mines and Nursing School. UNLV has always been a commuter school, but they are transitioning to a Tier 1 campus while the Nevada State and Community Colleges are taking over the commuter schools status.
I would avoid taking Kwong for Physics 180. I found Math 251 to be quite terrible, but 351 not so bad. I would avoid taking any CS classes with Kim, Ju-Yeon Jo, or Berghel. Their classes aren't terribly hard and theyre not unfair, buy they're death by PowerPoint so I feel like I didn't learn much.
This puts UNLV towards the bottom of R1 universities as the cutoff is 40m per year for R1 and budgets have been getting cut as faculty leave or grants move with the researcher. Saying that a school is a R1 is a nice thing, but nearly every state school in the country makes the cut.

A good chunk of the students (half) who start at UNLV won't finish, especially in the engineering college which has a massive attrition rate (which is pretty common, to be fair). The academics are mostly fine, though. Undergraduate education is pretty standardized nowadays.

Section C131-133 is indeed the visitors side. Even the map when you select your seats for the game says so. Yes, the UNLV logo at center field does face the “away” side, which is the home side for Raiders games. Hence the TV cameras are on the west side of Allegiant Stadium. We're coming in for the Fresno State game and about to book ...
Board of Regents and its poorest performance in the national level (corrupted, disrespectful leadership, there is a recent scandal about it). Mayor is crazy. In other words, a lot of burdens upon UNLV future generation. Regarding school, the 15 credit a semester in freshman year movement is just crazy.
