Inflammatory demyelinating diseases (IDDs), sometimes called Idiopathic (IIDDs) due to the unknown etiology of some of them, are a heterogenous group of demyelinating diseases - conditions that cause damage to myelin, the protective sheath of nerve fibers - that occur against the background of an acute or chronic inflammatory process.
Prognosis depends on the condition itself. Some conditions such as MS depend on the subtype of the disease and various attributes of the patient such as age, sex, initial symptoms, and the degree of disability the patient experiences. [14] Life expectancy in MS patients is 5 to 10 years lower than unaffected people. [15]
Symptoms and symptom onset vary; some individuals are diagnosed in childhood, others in adulthood, some report minor problems, whilst others experience severe discomfort and disability. In many cases, symptoms are mild enough to go unnoticed. The time period between episodes is known to vary between individuals.
BACM symptoms that follow are most frequently calf pain, gait complaints, and inability to walk. [2] The condition is self-limited and full restitution can be expected. In very rare cases, however, rhabdomyolysis may develop. [1] Affected are preschool and school-age children with a male predominance. [2]
Small fiber peripheral neuropathy is a type of peripheral neuropathy that occurs from damage to the small unmyelinated and myelinated peripheral nerve fibers. These fibers, categorized as C fibers and small Aδ fibers, are present in skin, peripheral nerves, and organs. [1]
The term childhood disease refers to disease that is contracted or becomes symptomatic before the age of 18 or 21 years old. Many of these diseases can also be contracted by adults. Some childhood diseases include:

[6] Patients often have severe learning difficulties, irritability, hyperactivity, self-injurious behaviour, and cognitive impairment, [6] but patients with normal intelligence have also been ...
