Toyota Tennessee's motor manufacturing plant celebrated the 20th anniversary of breaking ground in Jackson on Nov. 3.
The plant was established in 2003 as part of Toyota's Bodine Aluminum division, which also operates a plant in Troy, Missouri. [3] In 2020, the company's name changed from Bodine Aluminum to Toyota Motor Manufacturing Tennessee. [4] The company still shares leadership with the Missouri plant, now renamed Toyota Motor Manufacturing Missouri.
Gallatin is a city in and the county seat of Sumner County, Tennessee, United States. [5] The population was 30,278 at the 2010 census and 44,431 at the 2020 census. [6] Named for United States Secretary of the Treasury Albert Gallatin, the city was established on the Cumberland River and made the county seat of Sumner County in 1802.

In February 1978, L. Ron Hubbard was convicted, in absentia, by a French court for obtaining money under false pretenses. He was fined and sentenced to four years in prison. [8] On August 18, 1978, Hubbard collapsed while filming in the desert. [9] Suffering from a pulmonary embolism, Hubbard fell into a coma, but later recovered.
