The Kalamazoo Institute of Arts current building was unveiled in September 1961. Designed by the Chicago, Illinois, firm of Skidmore, Owings & Merrill , the 45,000 square feet (4,200 m 2 ) structure is based on a Mies van der Rohe design for a small museum, in the International Style of architecture.
Richland is a village in Kalamazoo County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 751 at the 2010 census , [ 4 ] up from 593 at the 2000 census. The village is within Richland Township , about 9 miles (14 km) northeast of Kalamazoo .
