1938 Datsun 17T truck. The Datsun truck line began with the Type 13 truck of April 1934, and was later used as the basis of the Datsun DC-3 roadster.A series of small trucks based on their passenger car counterparts, the 14T, 15T, and 17T, continued to be built until early 1944.
Introduced in January 1971 the Nissan Violet was a smaller version of the Datsun Bluebird 610, which was sold outside Japan under Nissan's Datsun brand as the Datsun 140J/160J — except in the United States where it was marketed simply as the Datsun 710.
A similar arrangement exists in the US-spec 510/610 cars and 521/620 pickup trucks for the years 1970-1973. The Datsun Bluebird (910) is an automobile which was produced by Nissan from 1979 to 1984. Nissan began realigning its export names with its home market names with the 910 series in November 1979. The 'B' tags were dropped in favor of 'Bluebird', though the models were marketed as 'Datsun Bluebird' initially.
