Formerly part of Adams House , it is the only one of the Gold Coast apartment buildings – luxurious private apartments built south of the Yard in the late 1890s – to now be a freshman dormitory.

Crothers Hall is an all freshman dorm, and the largest frosh dorm on Stanford’s campus. It was re-designated an all-frosh dorm in 2021 under the new neighborhood system. [17] It was previously upperclass residence and it occupies two buildings named Crothers Hall and Crothers Memorial (CroMem). The dorm previously had a global citizenship focus.

Constructed in 1894, Conant Hall was designed by Shepley, Rutan and Coolidge and reflects the Georgian architecture of freshman residences found around Harvard Yard. It was built with funds gifted by Edwin Conant. Originally consisting of 29 suites, Conant has since undergone numerous renovations and currently houses 84 single rooms. [1]
