Bhekasana (Sanskrit: भेकासन; IAST: Bhekāsana), [1] or Frog posture [2] is a reclining asana in modern yoga as exercise. It is one of several poses that put the body in a shape like that of a frog: another is Mandukasana. [3]
A single asana is listed for each main pose, whether or not there are variations. Thus for Sirsasana (Yoga headstand), only one pose is illustrated, although the pose can be varied by moving the legs apart sideways or front-and-back, by lowering one leg to the floor, by folding the legs into lotus posture, by turning the hips to one side, by placing the hands differently on the ground, and so on.
The name comes from the Sanskrit मन्दुक manduka, "a frog", from the frog-like position of the legs in the asana.. The pose is one of the 32 "useful asanas" listed in the classic 17th century Hatha yoga text Gheranda Samhita; the variant pose Uttana Mandukasana is also in that list.

The postures include 24 asanas (poses in modern yoga as exercise), one pranayama breathing exercise, and one shatkarma, a purification making use of forced breathing. Bikram Yoga was devised by Bikram Choudhury around 1971 when he moved to America.
Ustrasana is a deep backward bend from a kneeling position; the completed pose has the hands on the heels. [7] The backs of the feet may be flat on the floor, or the toes may be tucked under for a slightly less strong backbend. [8] The pose is one of the 26 asanas in the Bikram Yoga sequence. [9]
Ardha Salabhasana (Half Locust Pose) raises one leg and the opposite arm at a time; the other arm may rest on the floor or be folded over the back. [11] [12] In Bikram Yoga, Salabhasana, following another reclining backbend, Bhujangasana or Cobra Pose, is performed in stages. First, the arms are placed under the body pointing straight towards ...
