Francis Xavier Suarez (/ s w ɑː ˈ r ɛ z / SWAH-rez; born October 6, 1977) is an American lawyer and politician who is the 43rd and current mayor of Miami since 2017. The son of former Miami mayor Xavier Suarez, he previously served on the Miami City Commission from 2009 to 2017.
The 2025 Miami mayoral election will be held on November 4, 2025. Incumbent mayor Francis Suarez is term-limited and cannot run for a third term. Miami has runoff elections if no candidates can get a majority of the vote. A runoff election will be held on November 18, 2025, if necessary. [1]
