The Guadiana River (/ ˌ ɡ w ɑː d i ˈ ɑː n ə / GWAH-dee-AH-nə, US also / ɡ w ɑː d ˈ j ɑː n ə / gwahd-YAH-nə, [1] [2] Spanish: [ɡwaˈðjana], Portuguese: [ɡwɐdiˈɐnɐ]) is an international river defining a long stretch of the Portugal-Spain border, separating Extremadura and Andalusia (Spain) from Alentejo and Algarve (Portugal).
There are remains of more than 20 such small structures in the Portuguese Castro Verde territory. A mining transportation route that existed between the mines of Aljustrel 20 km to the north and the port city of Mértola 40 km to the east, is situated on the Guadiana river. [4] [5]
