Overview... The Town of Arundel operates under a town meeting form of government under which five selectmen are elected at large for staggered terms of three years. Day to day operations are supervised by the Town Manager. Town offices are located at 257 Limerick Road.
Responsibilities: The Tax Assessor is responsible for measuring, listing and placing a value on all Real and Personal Property within the Town of Arundel. It is the Assessor's responsibility to ensure that all taxpayers are paying their fair share of community services, based on current State Law.
Arundel was originally part of the area known as Cape Porpoise. Early land grants and deeds from the seventeenth century describe Cape Porpoise as extending between the Batson and Mousam rivers. In 1681, a written description of the town’s boundaries was prepared.
