Siliguri (/ sɪˈliˌɡʊri / Bengali: [ˈʃiliɡuɽi] ⓘ), also known as Shiliguri, [12][13] is a major tier-II city in West Bengal. It forms "Twin Cities" with the neighbouring district capital of Jalpaiguri. The city spans areas of the Darjeeling and Jalpaiguri districts in the Indian state of West Bengal.
Salugara Monastery. Salugara Monastery is a Buddhist shrine on the outskirts of Siliguri in the State of West Bengal, India. The Monastery is located 6 km from the city. [1] It was founded by Tibetan monks and followers of the Dalai Lama. The 100 ft stupa on the monastery is believed to have been built by the Tibetan Lama, Kalu Rinpoche.
