Keis leisure puffer jacket. This jacket draws 1.4A @ 12V, so ca 17W. Not a lot. It comes with a small battery that you can put in an internal pocket. The heated panels don't heat up that much but it's better than nothing. What I didn't like: quite puffy, may make layering a waterproof layer on top quite hard;
I'd like to get your thoughts on a combination of heated gloves and jackets, to connect to the bike. I want to buy from a UK retailer - I'm not going to deal with import duties international returns etc. I have ruled out: Warn 'n safe: in the US they sell some motorcycle gloves, but in the UK only glove liners. Macna: there is no controller.
This is of course what everybody does now, including the First Gear heated jackets. Beyond that, the Tourmaster jacket has pockets. It has robust zippers. If you unplug the controller, it can be used as a light jacket around the campsite, as it provides warmth on its own.
3,495. Location: Colorado. I bought a Warm and safe heated Liner shirt and heated glove liners earlier this year. I also got the dual remote controller so I could control the glove liners and shirt independently. Overall I am very happy with this set up. I have ridden in 40 degree rain and just plain cold down to 29 degrees and been comfortable ...

I had the Zarkie heated vest (wired) - great bit of gear - nicely made - completely changed the long early morning / nighttime commute in a Canberra winter - frequently circa minus 5 in the mornings, and ride each way about 50km - excellent under a windproof shell. #4. a2zworks likes this. Jun 18, 2015. Oddometer: 3,029. Location: Boston. Just picked up a venture battery powered vest yesterday evening after trying it out for ~ an hour. 7v Li-on battery pack, 3 heat zones 2 on chest (one over each pectoral) and one long one across lower back. 3 heat levels. Construction seems excellent.
Location: Way Northwest. LDComfort brand or merino wool base layer,then heated liner (Warm n Safe brand is my preference)then insulated liner and jacket or just jacket alone,depending on conditions. In moderate conditions,the jacket alone,provided it's fairly wind resistant,may be enough insulation over the heated liner.
Got a heated Milwaukee heated 12v hoody a few years ago as I already had a 12v impact wrench. Great for taking the edge the cold when taking the dog for a walk in the winter, but I found it insufficient for motorcycle riding in the cold weather. I ended up getting a Gears heated jacket/liner that had heated sleaves also. Much better for riding ...
I personally don't have a heated jacket, but I was using 4 layers under my Klim jacket. Heated grips and my Moose Racing foam "elephant ears" went a long way towards keeping my hands warm. #3
