    forums.tomshardware.com/threads/resolution-help-720p-900p-1080p.2854564

So is there a big difference on 900p (1600x900) & 1080p (1920x1080)? I'm told that the difference is not much on a 19.5 inch monitor. Compared to 720p (1366x768) blurry textures is more noticeable than 900p. As to 900p and 1080p not much.

Check the graphics card control panel if it has one and try a custom resolution. Try on yours as well and choose interlaced 1080 and try a variety of Hz settings. In any case if it is interlaced, 1366x768p60 (720p) is a superior resolution.

For a resolution of w x h, at an aspect ratio of aW:aH, you can use the equation w = (h*aW)/aH to get the width from the resolution and aspect ratio If we use that, the width comes out at (720*21)/9 = 1680

You have a 1080p native resolution monitor. The pixels are sized for 1080p resolution. By scaling to 720p, a black dot uses 3 pixels instead of 1 pixel, so doesn't always come out right. Manual adjustments shrink the picture so that that single black dot still uses just 1 pixel in 720p resolution, so still looks nice and sharp, if smaller.

  8. 4k resolution in 720p monitor - Tom's Hardware Forum

    forums.tomshardware.com/threads/4k-resolution-in-720p-monitor.2996457

This is true, but it is quite obvious that only 720p could actually be displayed on a 720p monitor. I thought the question was about playing games at 4K on a 720p monitor (why someone would want to do that, I don't know, but that wasn't the question asked), not displaying a native 4K image on a 720p monitor.

  9. [SOLVED] - can u lower the resolution of a 1080p monitor to 720p?...

    forums.tomshardware.com/threads/can-u-lower-the-resolution-of-a-1080p-monitor...

There are some exceptions though. For example 4k screen can display 1080p and 720p image really well. In 1080p resolution each virtual pixel becomes 2x2 physical pixels. In 720p resolution each virtual pixel becomes 3x3 physical pixels. Resulting image remains clear/sharp and there is no color bleeding to neighboring pixels. Same thing for ...

  10. First time playing. What resolution should I set it to?

    steamcommunity.com/app/22380/discussions/0/7128707880814069870

The game auto-detected my graphics capabilities and set it to Ultra High, but the resolution it set it to was 1280x720 Letterbox. I know this is a very old game, so should I just leave it at that or bump it up to full 1920x1080?
