It was completed in 1991 and has 54 floors. Frank Williams and Associates, headed by architect Frank Williams, [1] designed the building, which is the 114th tallest building in New York, and was tallest in the Upper East Side for 26 years, until surpassed in 2017 by 520 Park Avenue. [1] [2]
Because of its designation as the widest avenue on Manhattan's East Side, Park Avenue originally carried the tracks of the New York and Harlem Railroad built in the 1830s, just a few years after the adoption of the Manhattan street grid.
