Susumu Kodai (古代進, Kodai Susumu) is a fictional character appearing in Space Battleship Yamato. In the Star Blazers localization, he is known as Derek Wildstar , also known as Jason Kodai in the English dub of the first Yamato movie .

Farewell to Space Battleship Yamato: Warriors of Love (さらば宇宙戦艦ヤマト 愛の戦士たち, Saraba Uchū Senkan Yamato Ai no Senshitachi), also called Arrivederci Yamato, is the second film based on the classic manga and anime series Space Battleship Yamato (known as Star Blazers in the United States) and the sequel to Space Battleship Yamato (1977).
It is the sequel to Space Battleship Yamato and an adaptation of the movie Arrivederci Yamato created by Yoshinobu Nishizaki and Leiji Matsumoto. It aired on Yomiuri TV in Japan from October 14, 1978, to April 4, 1979. It later got a remake in 2017 under the name Star Blazers: Space Battleship Yamato 2202.
The Yamato sits out a space storm for three weeks, waiting for a corridor through a star cluster, as according to Shima bypassing it would take at least forty days. Tensions are high among the crew, Kodai and Shima come to blows.
