The Howard M. Terpenning Recreation Complex, often called the Terpenning Recreation Complex or simply the THPRD recreation complex, is a 92-acre recreation complex in Beaverton, Oregon. It is owned and operated by the Tualatin Hills Park and Recreation District (THPRD) and serves as the location of the district's administrative offices.

The Tualatin Hills Nature Park is a 222-acre nature park and wildlife preserve in Beaverton, Oregon, owned by the Tualatin Hills Park & Recreation District (THPRD). It is one of THPRD's two nature parks along with Cooper Mountain Nature Park. The park features 5 miles (8 km) of trails, of which 1.5 miles are paved and 3.5 miles unpaved. [1]

Cooper Mountain Nature Park is located on the south side of the 774-foot (236 m) tall Cooper Mountain in eastern Washington County. [3] [4] [6] The mountain, contrary to popular belief, is not a former volcano, but was formed due to basalt flows in the Tualatin Valley. [3]
The Tualatin Valley Chapter of the American Rhododendron Society started working with THPRD in 1982 to restore the rhododendron garden on the property. [6] The park district restored the property in 1989 at a cost of $178,000. [5] Camp Rivendale, a camp for adults and children with disabilities, was created in the 1980s. [4]
