Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic School is a private, Roman Catholic school in Waterford Township, Michigan, United States. It is one of only 5 PK-12 schools in the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Detroit. Opened in 1960, Our Lady of the Lakes School is a private Catholic K-12 school also located in the township at 5495 Dixie Highway, just south of Waterford Village. [ 45 ]
The first building specifically built for worship was a log church, dedicated in 1825 by Father Francis Badin, located near the lake in what is now Grosse Pointe Shores. The parish was officially organized in 1835, [ 3 ] and in 1848 [ 4 ] the log church was replaced by a frame chapel located on the site of the current church.

Prior to the 2022-2023 school year, the school was named Lake Michigan Catholic High School. [1] Our Lady of the Lake Catholic High School was formed by the merger of St. John and St. Joseph Catholic Schools in 1969. Since then, the high school has been part of a PS-12 school system serving Southwestern Michigan in the Catholic education tradition.
For the first several years after Waterford Township High School was established in 1947, kindergarten through sixth grade attended Four Towns, Waterford Village, Williams Lake or Waterford Center, while the high school was based at Drayton Plains School until a permanent home, on the corner of M-59 and Crescent Lake Road, was completed in 1950.
