The Epistle to the Galatians [a] is the ninth book of the New Testament.It is a letter from Paul the Apostle to a number of Early Christian communities in Galatia.Scholars have suggested that this is either the Roman province of Galatia in southern Anatolia, or a large region defined by Galatians, an ethnic group of Celtic people in central Anatolia. The terms "Galatians" came to be used by the Greeks for the three Celtic peoples of Anatolia: the Tectosages, the Trocmii, and the Tolistobogii. [2] [3] By the 1st century BC, the Celts had become so Hellenized that some Greek writers called them Hellenogalatai (Ἑλληνογαλάται). [4] [5] The Romans called them Gallograeci. [5]

John 1:35–51 reports the first encounter with two of the disciples a little earlier in the presence of John the Baptist.
