Gulf State Park is a public recreation area on the Gulf of Mexico in the city of Gulf Shores in southern Baldwin County, Alabama. The state park 's 6,150 acres (2,490 ha) mostly encompass the land behind the Gulf Shores beach community, between Highway 59 and SH 161 , with the west end extending further south to a wide beach area. Waterville USA, or simply known as Waterville, is a 20-acre (81,000 m 2) water and amusement park located a quarter-mile from the Gulf of Mexico in the city of Gulf Shores, Alabama, on Gulf Shores Parkway (Alabama State Route 59). The park opened in 1986, and since then has added numerous water and amusement attractions.
Gulf Shores is located on the Gulf of Mexico, and is the southernmost settlement in the state of Alabama. [2] It is served by Alabama State Route 59 (Gulf Shores Parkway), which leads north to Foley. Route 182 (Beach Boulevard) runs east-west along the shore front, while Route 180 (Fort Morgan Road) runs parallel to it, north of Little Lagoon.
The campground is located approximately 1.5 miles (2 km) from Fort Pickens itself. In Mississippi, the Davis Bayou Campground is developed, providing water and electrical hookups for recreational vehicles and tents. Roads are paved throughout the campground, as well as each campsite.

Joe Wheeler State Park is a public recreation area with resort features located on Wheeler Lake, an impoundment of the Tennessee River, 18 miles (29 km) east of Florence in northwest Alabama. [3] The state park contains 2,550 acres (1,030 ha) of land in three separate parcels and adjoins Wheeler Dam .
State Route 161 (SR 161) is a 1.716-mile-long (2.762 km) state highway near the beaches of Baldwin County near the Gulf of Mexico in the southwestern part of the U.S. state of Alabama. The southern terminus of the highway is at an intersection with SR 182 in the south-central part of Orange Beach .
