I put out my texas hunter feeder tonight. It was working fine last year when I put it away. It powered up fine and was able to set the clock and program it. When I tried to run the test feed it counted down correctly but then all I heard was a click and nothing happens.
I'd call Texas Hunter Products on Monday morning and describe the problem. If the timer unit is bad, hopefully they'll send you a new one free of charge. Good luck!
The directional fish feeders require very little maintenance. We recommend keeping the feeder running even in the winter months to keep the motors and battery cycling. When using a Texas Hunter Products solar charger, normally the feeder just requires changing the battery out every couple of years.
The tolerances are pretty tight, and fish food dust can accumulate in that space and cause the blower motor to work harder than it needs to, and cause the battery have to deal with a heavier load. Here's a pic of the blower and housing.
