The United States Sailing Association (US Sailing) is the national governing body for sailing in the United States. Founded in 1897 and headquartered in Bristol, Rhode Island , US Sailing is a 501(c) (3) non-profit organization.
IYT Worldwide was approved, and its courses recognized by the UK Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA), in October 1999 and is now recognized as a world leader by multiple administrations due to its numerous (20 plus) international recognitions covering a large number of its courses. IYT has trained over 350,000 candidates in the last 22 years.

The Chapman School of Seamanship is located near Stuart, Florida on the southeast coast of the state, 40 miles north of West Palm Beach, 110 miles north of Miami. The School's waterfront campus occupies 8 acres on the Manatee Pocket in the village of Port Salerno about 3 nautical miles from the St. Lucie Inlet which opens to the Atlantic Ocean.

LYC is one of the six founding members of the Southern Ocean Racing Conference (SORC), [4] being the St. Petersburg Yacht Club, Miami Yacht Club, Coral Reef Yacht Club, Biscayne Bay Yacht Club and Nassau Yacht Club the other five.
The event is sailed in cat-rigged boats which have been designed for singlehanded sailing or which are adaptable to singlehanded sailing. [ 3 ] The winner of this Championship may be invited to sail in United States Singlehanded Championship for the George O’Day Trophy organized by US Sailing with partial fees to be paid by ICSA .
