This occurs for me as well. It looks identical to the screenshots posted as far as I can tell. Much too narrow (horizontally compressed) in my opinion. I use Firefox 28.0 on Windows 8.1 Pro x64. Seeing the same thing here - Firefox 28 on Windows 7, 2560x1440. The previous font was far more readable than the new one.
