Posts: 28,354. Septic safe brands should all be ok, but you can help if you avoid all the fancy TP types, e.g. quilted, perfumed, colored, etc. All of those are made with sturdier paper to survive the extra production processes and typically do not dissolve as quickly or completely as plain white paper.

Posts: 4,666. Macerator and toilet paper use. We haven't had macerator toilets in our 2 previous Newmar's but the new LA has two. RV Flush, in seminars, has recommended Costco toilet paper use for all toilets and if in doubt put 1 sheet of paper in a cup of water and shack and if paper breaks up then you will be OK for all RV toilets.

I went out to pick up some RV toilet paper and while walking through the store I noticed "septic safe" toilet paper over where the regular stuff is. Septic safe is a much better deal, (and looks like it's always in stock ...

But, for the record the concensus is if you use a single ply paper like Scotts your ok. Many people use Angel soft. I use Kirkland brand. There are many that are ok. Test the paper by putting it in a pail of water. In another paill put your "RV Paper" let them sit for a while and compare. "RV paper" is a waste of money.

Take a bit of TP in a mason jar 2/3s full of water. Put the lid on and give it a good shake. If the paper does not break up into pieces, don't use the TP in your RV. Thetford definitely recommends against anything other than RV or Marine TP. Another problem is the TP buildup on the tank walls.

According to Home Rises, installing a toilet paper holder 8 to 12 inches from the edge of the toilet seat and 26 inches off the floor is usually sufficient. It's often too much of a reach to to get to a toilet paper holder installed on the wall opposite the toilet. Instead, consider mounting the toilet paper holder to the side of the toilet. A ...

Personally, and this is after only after 60 years of Camping/RV'ing experience, we use whatever we use in the house. That is Charmin. RV holding tanks and most modern toilet papers are very compatible. I would stay away from real cheap toilet papers, but if the paper states it is septic system safe I would suspect it will be OK.

So, looking for input on which toilet to get to replace our (I assume) 23 year old one. Our current one is a Thetford P/N: 34384 and is 16.5” high.
