Lincolnwood (formerly Tessville) is a village in Cook County, Illinois, United States.Per the 2020 census, the population was 13,463. [2] An inner suburb of Chicago, it shares its southern, eastern, and a small section of its western boundary with Chicago, also bordering Skokie to the north and west.
The site of Lincolnwood Town Center was formerly occupied by the headquarters of Bell & Howell.Developers Melvin Simon & Associates (now known as Simon Property Group and Chicago-based Hawthorn Realty first proposed to build a 1.2-million-square-foot (110,000 m 2) mall on the site in 1985, but the plan was turned down by city trustees.

The incumbent mayor at the time had received 1,167 votes, [13] and her fellow Alliance for Lincolnwood candidates received 1,329 and 1,328 votes respectively. Their three opponents on the Lifelong for Lincolnwood ticket received 849 votes, 847 votes, and 843 votes respectively. [14]
It leaves the city limits of Chicago at Devon Avenue, through the village of Lincolnwood, curves through the village of Skokie and ends at Dempster Street in Morton Grove. In total distance it is about 13 miles (21 km) long, although it is not completely continuous.
