Deerfield Beach is a city in Broward County, Florida, United States, just south of the Palm Beach County line. As of the 2020 census , the population was 86,859, [ 3 ] making it the tenth-largest city in Broward County.
Deerfield Beach Arboretum. The Deerfield Beach Arboretum, also known as the Tree Zoo, is an arboretum and botanical garden located in Deerfield Beach, Florida, United States. It covers 9 acres (3.6 ha). It is owned by the city of Deerfield Beach and managed by The Friends of the Deerfield Beach Arboretum.
The building is constructed of hollow tile, the interior walls are plaster on lath and the roof is made from Spanish terracotta tiles. In 1974 the home was designated a Florida Historic Site. [5] In 1977 the Butler family deeded the home and grounds to the Deerfield Beach Historical Society which operates it as a historic house museum. [6]

In 1876, the academy was reincorporated as the Deerfield Academy and Dickinson High School, [13] after local resident Esther Dickinson left the town $50,000 to build a new academic building (since demolished) and town library. [14] As late as the 1920s, the academy was still relying on tax revenue from the town. [15]
On April 30, 2018, the City of Deerfield Beach and the state-funded Community Redevelopment Agency erected a monument on the Southeast corner of the Hillsboro Bridge recognizing the section of the island that is exclusively Deerfield Beach and creating the "Deerfield Beach Island" District". [5]
