The season's production officially began on August 14, 2009, was produced by Cartoon Network Studios, and ran from September 6 to November 22, 2010. After Margaret leaves town for college, CJ and Mordecai meet each other at the New Year's Eve dance in the episode "New Year's Kiss", unwittingly kissing each other at midnight. The following episode, "Dodge This", continues this story days after the kiss with CJ and Mordecai competing against each other in a dodgeball tournament.
The episode also includes two original songs, "What Are You Thankful For?" and "Chewing on Freedom". According to J. G. Quintel, the episode "[had] some really awesome songs", but the crew "ended up having to record the people in the songs all at separate times", which proved challenging. In television, Rieffel was a series regular in The Thorns, Ann Jillian, The Trials of Rosie O'Neill, Women of the House, and Empty Nest (season 5 only). In 1998, Rieffel was an original cast member of The King of Queens during the show's first season, appearing in five of the sitcom's first six episodes before leaving the show.
The length of the song's title was a reaction by the band to the fact that most of its songs featured one-word titles. [2] The song is often referred to simply as "Elderly Woman" or "Small Town" by the band and its fans. Despite the lack of a commercial single release, the song reached number 17 on the Billboard Modern Rock Tracks chart.
In March 2016, Kacie Hermanson was announced as the new main character designer for the season, [3] replacing long-time designer Ben Adams, who left the show after the sixth episode of the season to work on Billy Dilley's Super-Duper Subterranean Summer for Disney XD. Calvin Wong served as supervising director for the season.
