Wikivoyage is a multilingual project available in 27 [1] languages, with each language-specific project developed independently. While now a Wikimedia project, it was begun independently. Wikivoyage content is broadly categorized as: destinations, itineraries, phrasebooks, and travel topics.
Wikitravel is a web-based collaborative travel guide based on the wiki format and owned by Internet Brands.It was most active from 2003 through 2012, when most of its editing community left and brought their contributions to the nonprofit Wikivoyage guide.
The lawsuit clears the last remaining hurdles for the WMF's new travel guide project, Wikivoyage. Wikivoyage was founded when a large portion of the wikitravel editing community wanted to leave for a website with more Wikipedia-like governance. The content is identical because the copyrights allow it, and in the setting up of Wikivoyage much of Wikitravel was simply copied over. Someguy1221 09:10, 18 January 2013 (UTC)
