    Town and Country makes some fireplaces with low BTUs because they are so inefficient. If your primary concern is for ambiance, then that may be a good thing. They have large viewing areas, which probably is why they are inefficient.

    I guess I'm just looking for ideas. Some of my ideas are: 1. Get an extend a flue. Fastest solution but I don't think that a tall thin flue extender would look good at all. 2. Remove cap, step the chimney in (about a foot all around) by adding cement block and extending it three feet. The chimney is about 3'x6'.
