It will only allow you to see the bill and amount, so you can pay with either Check Pay (provided by Quicken) or Direct Connect Bill Pay (provided by Chase). Bank Bill Pay requires a 2-way communication (back and forth between the bank and Quicken) like Direct Connect. So, Bank Bill Pay from within Quicken is a feature that will not be coming back unless and until the FDX consortium changes the new protocol to, or develops a new protocol which will, allow 2-way communications, again.
I have reverted to my old 2-step process for paying bills from Chase.... Now - I have a Quicken Reminder, that I then "enter" after receiving the bill. Next (reverting to old manual entry) go to the Chase online website - and manually enter the actual payment. It was great to enter the transactions in Quicken, use the Chase Bank (direct) bill ...
Chase banking/Chase Credit card. They are linked at Chase and in Quicken. If I try to add the credit card as an online bill, Quicken recognizes the account but when I click add the bill it only comes in as check pay with no online pay option as I get with other credit cards (except Capital One which refuses to work at all).
The latest release in both products (Windows R41.19 or Mac 6.8.1, or higher) will guide you through changing your online bills into manual bills in Quicken, and you can then pay your Chase bills through Check Pay, if you choose. To download the latest release for your product: Windows
Another option is to not enter the Bill Pays in your online Chase account and instead use Quicken's Check Pay service which will enter the scheduled payment into the register. But that is something I would not recommend when the option of scheduling the Bill Pay on Chase's website, which is more reliable, is available to you.
Currently, with Chase bank bill pay this is all done automatically when you make an online payment to your credit card account as part of the account reconciliation process (i.e. after reconciling your credit card account Quicken asks if you want to make an online payment to pay the balance).
If your bank (the one that runs your checking account) recently required you to reauthorize your checking account and/or your bank has changed from "Direct Connect" to either "Express Web Connect" or "Express Web Connect+" you can no longer use Online Bill Pay direct to the bank or Quicken Bill Manager's Quick Pay function.
All future payments scheduled in Chase Bill Pay, y me manually or recurring payments scheduled by Chase automatically, are not downloaded into Quicken until the payment is debited from my account. Quicken, for years, updated the account register when payments were scheduled, not cleared.
