Virgin Radio UK is a national Hot Adult Contemporary radio station in the United Kingdom that launched on 30 March 2016, owned by News Broadcasting, which is itself a subsidiary of News Corp. [1] It is the second incarnation of Virgin Radio in the UK: the original station launched in 1993 before being rebranded as Absolute Radio in 2008.

The original Virgin Radio Groove operated between 2000 and 2008, playing motown, soul and disco music. At the end of 2019, Wireless Group, which had taken up the Virgin Radio brand in the UK from 2016, revived the Virgin Radio Groove name as a new digital station, broadcasting upbeat music to London in DAB+ and central Scotland as a stereo standard DAB.
During his tenure the programme was the biggest afternoon radio show in the UK outside of London. At the age of 23 he moved to XFM London where he hosted weekday afternoons and then weekends. [1] He left XFM London for the first incarnation of Virgin Radio UK on 1215AM nationally and remained on across the transition to Absolute Radio.
