The 2022 Tour de France Femmes (officially 2022 Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift) was the first edition of the Tour de France Femmes, a professional women's cycling race which took place from 24 to 31 July. It was the 16th event in the 2022 UCI Women's World Tour. The Tour consisted of 8 stages, covering a distance of 1,033 kilometres (642 mi).
Some teams and media have referred to the race as a 'Grand Tour', as it is one of the biggest events on the women's calendar. 144 riders across 24 six-member teams took part in the 2022 Tour de France Femmes. [ 1 ] [ 2 ] Twenty-five nationalities took part, with the largest percentage being Dutch (20% of the peloton). [ 3 ] 109 riders finished the event.

The race calendar for the 2022 season was announced in June 2021, [1] [2] with twenty-four races initially scheduled – up from eighteen that were held in 2021. The calendar featured several new events, including Tour de France Femmes. In September 2021, the Tour de Romandie Féminin was added to make a total of twenty-five races. [3]
The UCI Women's World Tour is the premier annual female elite road cycling tour. As of 2024, the tour includes 28 events in Europe, Asia and Oceania – with one-day races such as Strade Bianche Donne and Paris–Roubaix Femmes, and stage races such as Women's Tour Down Under, as well as week long stage races (sometimes referred to as Grand Tour) such as Tour de France Femmes.
The race was part of the UCI Women's World Tour. From 2022, Tour de France Femmes – an 8-day stage race in the UCI Women's World Tour – was held following the Tour, replacing La Course. [240] The Tour de France Femmes had its first stage on the Champs-Élysées prior to the final stage of the men's race. [10]
