Crystal is a census-designated place (CDP) comprising the main community in Crystal Township, Montcalm County, Michigan, United States. As of the 2020 census , it had a population of 888. [ 3 ] The CDP includes the village proper of Crystal, at the east end of Crystal Lake, as well as all of the land surrounding the lake.

The township is in southeastern Montcalm County and is bordered to the east by Gratiot County.According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 35.8 square miles (93 km 2), of which 34.0 square miles (88 km 2) are land and 1.8 square miles (4.7 km 2), or 5.04%, are water. [1]
