Forum Rules. In the featured Jim Stoppani 8 nutrition rules article, he recommends taking a whey protein shake mixed with casein after your workout for fast and slow absorbing protein fortification. Though i've read that you should not take whey with casein because the casein will slow down or disable the fast absorbtion of whey.
casein is deadly its like an ivy drip of protein to your muscles all night while you sleep and only has 3g of carbs per scoop so i dont know what the above poster is talking about extra carbs for. In conclusion, a breakfast with 25% of energy from casein is rated as being more satiating than a breakfast with 10% of energy from casein at 3 and 4 h after breakfast, coinciding with prolonged elevated concentrations of plasma amino acids, but does not reduce subsequent energy intake. ^^.
Trutein and PES are my go to. Technically trutein isn't just Whey & Casein as there is egg protein in there too. But for most flavors you're looking at 40% whey and 40% casein. Great texture when blended or just shaken... next level satiation when you blend with ice & milk for 2-3 minutes. Grenade hydra 6 is another great option, strawberry ...
Rep Power: 828612. Dymatize Elite Casein Cinnamon Bun Review w/pics. Hundreds of thanks to Dymatize and joakman for allowing me the opportunity to review their newest casein protein flavor, Cinnamon Bun. I was absolutely floored when a giant tub showed up at my door, I was honestly only expecting a couple handfuls so this was a massive surprise.
Casein could potentially cause stomach issues to someone who is not lactose intolerant. It is difficult for the body to digest, which is why some use it for a bed time protein. It ultimately becomes paracasein in the stomach, which can result in a reasonably large deuce and/or bad gas. self-proclaimed huguenot.
Casein is a great product to use before bed, due to the fact that the product takes 5-7 hours to totally digest. This then aids in muscle preservation, and your body has something to feed on during the long hours of rest. Most Casein will be roughly 24 grams of protein per scoop....including my favorite ON Peanut Butter Chocolate.
Casein powder's not necessary. Some prefer it before bed because it's "slow digesting." I prefer to get my casein from food, e.g. milk, cheese, yogurt as whey powder is cheaper than casein powder and most dairy products have more casein than whey (exception ricotta cheese is made w/ the whey).
LOL. Casein is good for before bed. If you workout late, then I see no problem mixing a scoop of whey, and a scoop of Casein to give you 40g of protein after workout. If you workout early, I would just hit the whey before, after, then hit the Casein before bed. B e a s t M o d e [ON] OFF.
I mix cottage cheese with whey before bed, not casein. The cottage cheese IS the casein. The faster digesting whey will spike the amino acids circulating in your blood, promoting muscle recovery. The slower digesting casein will then slowly release amino acids for several hours, preventing catabolisis.
