The Delhi University Students Union (DUSU) is the students' union at the University of Delhi, and with over 7,00,000 students spread over 91 affiliated colleges and 16 faculties, DUSU is the world’s largest student body. [2] It was established in 1949, [1] and in 1954 the first DUSU elections were held. [3]

Established in 1956 in New Delhi by the late Lala Shri Ram in memory of his wife Phoolan Devi (Lady Shri Ram), the college began in a school building in Daryaganj, Central Delhi with 299 students, nine faculty, and four support staff.
