Alberta is an unincorporated community in L'Anse Township of Baraga County in the U.S. state of Michigan. It is situated on US Highway 41 (US 41) about eight miles (13 km) south of the village of L'Anse at 46°38′37″N 88°28′46″W / 46.64361°N 88.47944°W / 46.64361; -88.
Township lines run parallel to the baseline (east-west), while range lines run north–south; each are established at 6-mile intervals. Lastly, townships are subdivided into 36 sections of approximately 1 square mile (640 acres; 2.6 km 2 ) and sections into four quarter-sections of 0.25 square miles (160 acres; 0.65 km 2 ) each.
Albert Township is composed of two survey townships: Township 29 North, Range 1 East and Township 29 North, Range 2 East, Michigan Meridian. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, Albert Township has a total area of 70.4 square miles (182 km 2), of which 65.7 square miles (170 km 2) are land and 4.7 square miles (12 km 2), or 6.69%, are water.
