The Ayodhya Municipal Corporation, also called Ayodhya Nagar Nigam, is the governing civic body of the cities of Ayodhya and Faizabad in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. Local self-government for Ayodhya and Faizabad was introduced in 1865. The two cities were administered jointly as a municipality. [1]
Basti city is the district headquarters. The district is bordered by Sant Kabir Nagar to the east and Gonda to the west. To the south, the Ghaghara River forms its boundary with Faizabad and Ambedkar Nagar, while to the north, it shares its boundary with Siddharth Nagar district.
